-- Women Walk the Land -- An Event Big Enough to ReWrite the Future
Humanity is awakening to the understanding that women are the solution. A world lead by masculine energy has created an imbalance. Leadership that draws from feminine qualities such as inclusion, inspiration, creativity, intuition, nurturing, and beauty will, as Dr. Deepak Chopra said, “. . . bring sanity, peace, harmony, laughter and love to a world that desperately wants to awaken to a new way of living and being.” Sole2Soul Walk is a Living Mural of Courageous Actions Converging to Rewrite the Future. Gathering this energy to accelerate sustainable outcomes will occur from International Woman’s Day March 8th thru Peace Day September 21st 2011 Step out with us. In America, sole to soul, we are walking from California to Washington D.C. that is 2,639 miles. The extreme distance of that walk allows us time to be the banner for what is already taking place and to talk deeply about what else is needed. Some courageous women will walk the entire way; others will join for whatever time is right for them and others in America and abroad will create their own form of “walking the land.” Humanity has made wondrous strides. Yes, that is absolutely true, and it is not enough. Living from half of humanity’s brain is fatal to our species and our planet. There is no need to list the ills; the list is not missing—women are missing. Women are the glue of civilization and we are missing from the conversations and the decisions. Come, walk with us. We walk to gather our sisters and hear their stories. We walk to discover the unconscious conversations held in our bodies. Ultimately, we walk to course correct our collective future and that of our planet. We can’t yet know what that will look like or how it will happen—we still only have half the story. We will talk long and deep with our sisters about the things that matter most. Using today’s technology we will cross pollinate our conversations, intuitions and actions. Together we will put our foot down again and again in a progression of conversations. We will move our species into collaborative participation in the immeasurable radiant potential of humanity’s evolution. Exercise your freedom, walk with us. Yes, it will be hot, it will get cold! We will not always be comfortable. Conditions and conversations may get intense. Still, we walk forward, into this global longing to influence and awaken the best in humanity. Humanity and our planet cry for the pivotal unifying involvement of women. Together, we are an event big enough, pivotal enough, and timely enough to re-write the future. Step by step—sole to soul—women of all faiths, all races, all ages and level of means will gather. We will walk together, holding space for our differences, while sharing our commonalities. We will awaken one another. Over the miles we will go back and learn the deep story of women’s history, we will stand together and share our current stories, and with each step we will change the story of humanity’s future. To understand—we listen without judgment. To be heard—we speak without hostility. To be in partnership—we acknowledge and invite the support and protection of men. We will not waste a single breath on assigning blame or denigrating our brothers. Over the miles a new dialogue will evolve establishing women’s full participation in the conversations and decisions that shape the future. Join us; leave YOUR footprints on this chapter in history. We know YOU are strong enough and ready enough.Because the future needs us NOW—RIGHT NOW—Sole to Soul Women Will Walk the Land.
Founding Council Member Bio's
Julie Raymond is a visionary and sacred activist. Her soul work for the past seventeen years has focused on exploring the forgotten relationship between our ancient mothers with their modern daughters. Many years of deep soul work and research at home and abroad bore fruit in the form of a seven book women’s fiction series about ancestral memory Julie is writing called, We the Trees. The first book, The Well of Time is now ready for publication. Julie believes a rich heritage is largely lying dormant in the consciousness of modern women. Recently, Julie began traveling the country leading circle workshops called, Reclaiming Our Mothers. Restoring in participants awareness of the rich memory of the collective feminine passed down in the genetic inheritance we receive from our ancient mothers. Ancestral memory is the complete birth right of every woman who has ever lived. Embarking on the greatest excavation of all time Julie wants to help women, reclaim our mothers. She believes the central issue of our time is the rebalancing of the feminine and masculine. Integral to that rebalancing is the awakening of women, as a gender, to their heritage, gifts and voice. Public speaking and leadership in externally focused positions have consistently been the focus of Julie’s career. Regular spots on a morning news program doing book reviews, organizing events and results oriented community involvement were key aspects of her most recent professional experience. Julie volunteers her time with Women Waking the World, Gather the Women and The Ways Women Lead.
Andrea Riggs author, speaker, and workshop facilitator. Her vision is to empower women through honoring the divine feminine and to bring harmony to humanity and the planet by balancing the masculine and feminine. Her holistic healing practice combines training in hypnotherapy and meridian tapping with many other proven techniques to shift energy. Through her work, she realized the path to true freedom was the release of old traumas and beliefs that are stored in our bodies and unconscious memory. Shocked by the volume and absurdity of the limiting beliefs that came from environment, culture and childhood, she realized that many other women must be held back by the skewed attitudes, false ideas and mis-perceptions that stem from the historical collective conscious. Moreover, with the constant pressure and reinforcement by the existing media of these negative core beliefs, Andrea, realized that women have little hope of shifting their internal paradigms on their own. More importantly, they likely are not even aware of how they are being tethered to external forces rather than owning their personal power. Passionate about making a difference, Ms. Riggs has presented numerous courses on using transformative tools to overcome old and limiting false core beliefs. An at-risk adolescent herself, she implements the processes and tools that she has utilized in transforming her own life. Her teachings offer real life experience, compassionate insight, humor as well as practical application. A natural leader, Andrea motivates others to create a life of meaning and purpose for themselves. By her own example and through the stories of other women, she demonstrates that being single and being female are “highly underrated.” She reminds women that embracing their wholeness brings freedom and great joy.

Marilyn Nyborg has been a spiritually based activist since the ‘60’s beginning with the civil rights movement. In the ‘70’s she turned her focus inward and began the journey to wholeness, integrating the masculine and feminine within and examining the unconscious attitudes and conditioning in her personality. Recognizing the need for women to find their voices and claim their power, she began in the early ‘80’s to work through women’s circles and activities to bring feminine wisdom to bear on the world. In 2002 she became a co-founder of Gather the Women. In 2009 she initiated a conversation about the major loss throughout civilization at the repression and degradation of women’s wisdom and contributions. This led to the birth to Women Waking the World. Marilyn is a visionary, an initiator of creative ideas. She fosters new thinking, connecting the dots between people, ideas and projects. Marilyn lives in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains in Northern California. She is dedicated to creating a world in which her grandson Dane can express his sensitivity and broad range of feeling without being seen as weak and her granddaughter Kayden can speak from her heart and her mind without being seen as overbearing.
